It took a little longer than expected (okay a lot longer) but it had more to do with lack of time than anything else. And well possibly doubling the size of the chapter had something to do with it as well.
The original chapter focused mainly on one thing and when I started to to do the re-write a million more ideas came to me. Some of this I had intended before I started the re-write, other came while I was doing it. Ultimately the re-write was about trying to show a renewal of energy in Franklin’s life – a return to having a purpose and showing what he was doing with that renewed vigor.
My editor’s comments about the original chapter also said I needed to start bringing more life into the scenes. And there were some technical issues regarding direction that didn’t make sense. Hopefully this fixes those issues as well.
