Last week I went through several aspects of Book 1 and changed some minor details to the story to better fit the area that Extraordinary Man and the farmer Thomas grew up and live in. While most of these changes were minor it did involve editing half the chapters in the book in one fashion or another. Overall I am pleased with the results.
During the coarse of these edits I found several small corrections that needed to be made along the way. Some were quite obvious and I asked myself many times how was “that” missed. But this is ultimately the problem I have when I go back and re-read my work. As any artist will tell you, we are never satisfied.
Still, over the past decade there has been one important thing I have had to learn as an artist; when to let something go. Great things can happen when you put your ideas, your creations, into the hands of others. To that end it’s time to put the first Book to rest and press. But before I do…
This week I will review the notes, comments and suggestions my early editing team put forth and make a series of last changes. The following week I will review the store 1 last time in it’s full collected form. At that point I will make my final changes and then it’s time to get a professional look.
I plan to start fund raising for the editing and publication the beginning of September with the hope of an eBook to market for the Christmas holidays.
2 Weeks to final edit.
