And so we come to a close of another year of NaNoWriMo.
To all my fellow authors who took the time to participate this month, congratulations. Even if you didn’t complete the 50,000 word goal, you tried. And sometimes just starting to put an idea down on paper is all you need.
I ended Book 6 of the Extraordinary Saga at just over 60,000 words. I managed to successfully write every day on average 2000 words. The writing every day this year was the biggest challenge of all. There were so many things going on and there were a couple times I wondered if I would even get 1 word written that day but I managed to pull it off.
Book 6’s first draft is pretty amazing. I’d love to tell you some details about it but of course at this point most have not even read the first book. There will still be some massive editing when it comes to re-writing the first draft of this book (chapter 9 needs the most work) but man, the core is solid and full of surprising twists and turns. And then there’s the ending…. I finished writing it a few hours ago and it still gives me goosebumps.
That’s all for now. I’ll be back to posting about Book 1 re-write over the next month and with luck I’ll have that out to my editor before the new year.
Thanks all!
